- The Misson of the Medical College of Georgia Foundation improve the quality of life of
the people of Georgia, the nation, and the
world by supporting the advancement of
education, research, and service of the
Medical College of Georgia. - The Foundation was incorporated in 1954 as a not-for-profit corporation to acquire and hold property and money to improve and maintain the high standards of instruction at the Medical College of Georgia, to create and maintain fellowships for the study of medicine and related disciplines, to create and maintain facilities for research in medical science by both faculty and students and to award scholarships and in other ways assist MCG Students.

The Foundation accepts donations to help carry out its charitable purpose to exclusively support the education, research and clinical care missions of MCG. To accomplish this, there are four categories of established accounts and funds:
- Designated Endowment Funds
- General Endowment Funds
- Designated Expendable Accounts
- Life Income Funds
The Foundation's principle responsibility is to honor donor intent. We have a fiduciary responsibility to ensure that donor wishes are strictly observed and that gifts are used only for the purpose(s) stated by the donor. The Foundation will be accountable to the donor in ensuring that MCG has spent their funds in a prudent manner consistent with their intentions.

the Foundation is composed of a 22-member Board of Directors, and has the legal responsibility to govern the corporation. This diverse board is comprised of MCG graduates and business leaders.

The Foundation staff, under the leadership of the President & CEO, are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. Accounting, Finance, IT, Administration and Stewardship are managed in the Augusta Office.

INVESTINGIN MCG
As stewards of your philanthropic gifts, the Foundation is accountable for the proper management of those funds once entrusted to us.
The experience of our Board of Directors, combined with the training of our staff and consultants bring a wealth of expertise in financial management to the Foundation. Investment strategies are constantly evaluated, with the Investment Committee ultimately approving the guidelines for asset management.
