Q. WHAT IS AUGUSTA GIVES?
Augusta Gives is Augusta University’s annual day of giving. We are asking the community, alumni, friends, retirees, parents, students and employee to come together for fundraising and gratitude.
Q. WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE IN AUGUSTA GIVES?
Private support helps address gaps in funding and directs resources where they’re needed most. If you’re in a position to give, your support helps us provide financial aid for students who struggle to pay for college, fund critical research, keep our sports programs thriving, bolster new programs and meet emergency needs as they arise. Augusta Gives donors help us adapt to changing circumstances, making our work, our mission, and our university stronger. And your gift doesn’t just provide financial support — it shows our students that you are there, investing and believing in them, each step of the way.
Q: WHERE CAN I GIVE TO MAKE THE MOST IMPACT?
Support MCG with a gift to what you love by donating to the designation closest to your heart:

Scholarships - Help bridge the financial gap for our health sciences students.

Research - Give to one of our research initiatives that include Georgia Cancer Center, Immunology Center Georgia or the Translational Research Building.

Q: HOW DO I MAKE MY GIFT ?
Between 5:32 a.m. to 12 a.m. on March 19, click the GIVE NOW button to be directed to our giving form where you can donate to a few select areas of support, or click here to search all of our available funds. All gifts made on March 19th, regardless of the form you donate through, will be counted towards Augusta Gives.
Q: IS THERE A MINIMUM ONLINE GIFT AMOUNT?
For gifts processed through our Augusta Gives giving platform, the minimum gift amount is $5. We accept gifts via credit card, debit card, PayPal, and Venmo.
Q. WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE A BIG GIFT? CAN MY SUPPORT REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Yes! With so many unexpected and urgent needs all across campus, every gift, no matter the size, helps our university do more for our students and our state. During last year’s Augusta Gives, 724 of the 974 gifts we received were $100 or less. Every contribution added together becomes a powerful force to make an impact.
Q. DO I HAVE TO GIVE ONLINE?
Giving online via our secure Augusta Gives site allows you to participate in leaderboards and challenge matches. However, we welcome gifts by phone or mail as well. To make a gift by phone, call 706-721-4001. To give by mail, send check payable to: Medical College of Georgia Foundation, 720 St. Sebastian Way, Suite 150, Augusta, GA 30901. Please indicate “Augusta Gives” on the memo line, along with the fund or area you wish to support.
Q: IS MY GIFT TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes. Your Augusta Gives gift is tax-deductible, as most gifts to charity are. Please consult your tax preparer to be certain.
Q. CAN I MAKE A STOCK GIFT?
Yes. When making a gift of securities to the Medical College of Georgia, please notify us before you make the transfer, and indicate that it is in support of Augusta Gives. This will help us ensure your gift counts toward our day of giving and receives proper credit and acknowledgment.
