The scholarship recipient(s) will be selected by the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Committee with notification to the Office of Student Financial Aid for processing and awarding. The scholarship shall be open to all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship, disability, age, or veteran status, subject to the criteria set forth below:
• Recipient (s) must be enrolled in Augusta University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree and majoring in a STEM (ex., pre-med, pre-dental, biology, chemistry, math, technology, nursing, allied health, etc.).
• Recipient(s) must be a sophomore, junior, or senior.
• Recipient(s) must be enrolled full-time.
• Recipient(s) must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
• Recipient(s) selection shall be made on merit.
• Recipient(s) must spend at least one semester conducting undergraduate research.
• Recipient(s) must engage with the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURS) and enroll in the undergraduate research mentor program.
• In the event that the above criteria are not satisfied, the scholarship may be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Committee.

The desire is that the MCG students will want to return to practice medicine in the Southwest Georgia area.
