The Bella J. May Award is established to recognize the entry-level student who shows the greatest potential for becoming a caring, competent, creative, and contributing member of the profession. The award shall include a monetary prize of not less than $500, a plaque, and the recipient’s name engraved on a permanent plaque located in the Department of Physical Therapy.
A second award may be made to the graduating post-professional student who has exhibited the same qualifications and potential and who, prior to entering the program, has provided evidence of professional competence, involvement, and creativity. This award shall also include a monetary prize of not less than $500, a plaque, and the recipient’s name engraved on the permanent departmental plaque.
Both monetary awards may increase as the annual endowment distribution allows.
If sufficient funds remain after the two awards are made, the remaining income may be used to support professional activities for entry-level or post-professional students. Appropriate activities may include assistance with travel and expenses associated with presenting at an APTA conference, participating in a National Student Conclave, or other similar professional activities.

The Dental Hygiene Endowment was created to augment faculty development and recruitment for advancing the teaching mission; to sustain an active liaison mechanism between the program and the dental community; to support student research presentations at state and national meetings; and to provide scholarship assistance to dental hygiene students.

To support the programs and activities of the Medical Laboratory, Imaging, & Radiologic Sciences Department.

To provide partial salary support and additional support to the recipient of the Kellett Chair in the College of Allied Health Sciences.

To be used in support of the programs and activities of the Department of Medical Illustration.

To provide two awards to students in the School of Medicine and College of Allied Health (medical technology).

The John Powell Scholarship Endowment was created to award periodic scholarships to respiratory therapy students.

This fund is established in memory of Mrs. Kayte Averett Wimberly. The purpose of the fund is to provide support for distinguished speakers in the field of Hematology. It is expected there will be an annual speaker who will choose a topic of interest to technologists working in the field of Hematology, Medical technology students and other interested persons in the community. A committee of three persons will be responsible for the selection of the speakers and associated duties.

This fund is established in honor of Ms. Anderson upon her retirement after thirty years of service to the Medical College of Georgia. This fund will be used strictly for student’s needs, such as emergency loans, travel to professional meetings and programs for their student society in the School of Allied Health Sciences.

The purpose of the Charlotte A. Johnston Memorial Scholarship fund is to recognize and support outstanding health information management students in need of financial assistance. The Scholarship will be awarded during the Honors Ceremony for the School of Allied Health Sciences and will be presented to a deserving rising senior.

This fund was established to provide a scholarship to a rising senior respiratory therapy student annually. The criteria will be established by the Respiratory Therapy Faculty to include grade point average and service to the community and college.

Supports the programs and activities of the Department of Occupational Therapy.
