In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Dental College of Georgia, the MCG Foundation is funding a scholarship for a dental student based on the following criteria: must be academically in the top 1/3 of the class; must have exhausted all other means of financial aid. If these criteria are not satisfied, the scholarship may be awarded at the discretion of the DCG Scholarship Committee.

The Editorial Council for The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry Dr. Judson C. Hickey Scholarship was established to recognize Dr. Hickey’s service as the second editor of the Journal. Dr. Hickey was appointed editor in 1975 and served in that capacity for 34 years. He brought insight to the Office of the Editor and stimulated the growth of the Journal to an international publication that today is sponsored by both domestic and international general dentistry and prosthodontic organizations.
The scholarship will be awarded to dental students, subject to the criteria set forth below:
1. The scholarship recipient(s) will be recommended to the Dental College of Georgia Scholarship Committee by faculty who completed a CODA-approved advanced standing program in Prosthodontics and who taught the students in the D1-D3 years, with notification to the Office of Student Financial Aid for processing and awarding. The scholarship shall be open to all applications regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship, disability, age, or veteran status, subject to the criteria set forth below:
- Recipient(s) must be enrolled in the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University at the Augusta location.
- Recipient(s) must be a rising D4 student.
- Recipient(s) must be in the upper 25% of the class both didactically and clinically.
- Recipient(s) must be of the highest ethical character and shall not be on probation for academic or any other reason.
- Recipient(s) selection shall be made with a preference to a student demonstrating academic and clinical excellence in prosthodontics. An interest and aptitude in prosthodontics are highly desired.
- Recipient selection shall be made with a preference for a student conducting original research. An interest and aptitude in research are highly desired but not required.
2. If for any reason, it is determined by the President of Augusta University and the donor, (Editorial Council for The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry), are reasonably available, and so certified to the Chairperson of the Foundation that Augusta University has no need for a fund established for the purpose stated above, the parties agree that the fund shall be used to support Advanced Standing in Prosthodontics Program scholarships.

The Frances Crittenden Nurse Practitioner Scholarship was created to fund an annual award of at least $100 to be given to a Nurse Practitioner student in the MCG School of Nursing. The award is to be given to a senior nurse practitioner student who has demonstrated excellence and creativity in course work and clinical NP practice. MCG Nurse Practitioner Program faculty will nominate candidates with final selection made by the School of Nursing Scholarship Committee based on these additional factors: (1) The recipient demonstrates caring behaviors with peers, faculty and patients and shows evidence of involvement in MCG community and/or professional activities;
(2) The recipient shows evidence of increased personal awareness and growth through sensitivity to others as well as superior communication skills and accountability.

Established in memory and honor of Col Anderson, a dedicated and beloved Army Nurse. She was an Army nurse for 24 years and was a former chief nurse of Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon. The Scholarship will be awarded to either 1. A ROTC cadet who will be commissioned and enters the Army Nurse Corps or 2. A student who will be directly commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps upon graduation.
