The Lucy and Edythe Marion Scholarship was created to provide a scholarship to an undergraduate student, in the College of Nursing at Medical College of Georgia, pursuing a BSN degree. Selection will be made by the CON scholarship committee and based on need.

To provide a scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate student in the College of Nursing at the MCG. Selection will be made by the College of Nursing scholarship committee based on need.

To award an annual scholarship to a graduate student, based on merit and financial need, who plans to pursue a nursing career in gerontology. The individual must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application and be able to demonstrate financial need. The applicant will submit an essay addressing why he/she thinks gerontology is an important specialty in nursing. A College of Nursing faculty member, who teaches graduate students and with preference given to a faculty member with an interest in gerontology, will be appointed by the College of Nursing Dean to select the award recipient.

To fund an annual scholarship award of $1000 to a MCG College of Nursing student who has a 2.8 GPA and who writes a one page statement of purpose/goals (to be reviewed and selected by a committee assigned by the College of Nursing Dean). Priority will be given as follows: 1) to a graduate nursing student who is interested in a career in nursing education; 2) to a graduate nursing student; 3) to any nursing student.

For graduate nursing scholarships for students who focus their studies on any aspect of addiction or its consequences with preference give to applicants who demonstrates financial need. In absence of financial need, only the addiction related condition will apply.

To provide scholarships to undergraduate students in the College of Nursing.

To recognize a graduating senior who best demonstrates the pursuit of excellence in pediatric nursing. An annual award of a minimum $100 will be given to a graduating senior who demonstrates academic excellence and a commitment to practicing as a pediatric nurse in the Children’s Medical Center. The candidate will be nominated by the College of Nursing faculty. This fund also is to maintain the Lloyd E. Graybeal conference room in the Health Sciences Building.

To provide an annual cash award to the outstanding senior nursing student for clinical practice in community nursing.

To support the College of Nursing at Augusta University for the educational needs of nursing students, with preferences for masters and doctoral students, at the discretion of the Dean of the CON.

To fund awards to students who demonstrate promise in the fields important to Ms. Fair - Respiratory Care and Rehabilitation. Two students, one undergraduate and one graduate, will receive this$1,000 award annually. The undergraduate award is based on the applicant's interest in Respiratory Care and/or Rehabilitation. The graduate student award is based on the applicant's involvement in the same fields stated above. Both awards' applicants are also judged on demonstrated leadership ability.

To provide funding for worthy students in the nursing anesthesia program, who: 1) is a Georgia resident 2)Have completed three semesters as a full time student in the Nursing Program at AU; 3) Intends to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist within the state of Georgia and become a member of the GANA committee for a period of one year beginning within one year of completion of the program.

To provide financial assistance to graduate students in the College of Nursing.
